Short campaign summary:
Total Playtime:
9068 sorties
4892 h 36 min 43 seconds in the air
It is much lower number (only around 45%) compared to previous one, but it was a much shorter campaign (3 weeks, compared to 5 weeks in the last one). Take that into account and it is only 25-30% reduction (probably due to summertime).
Team Balance:
Allies:
3919 Sorties
2094 Flight Hours
384 Air Kills
5056 Ground Kills
Axis:
5149 Sorties
2798 Flight Hours
336 Air Kills
9086 Ground Kills
It becomes interesting when it is split between two maps:
(BLUE:RED)
Normandy Sorties:
1218 : 798
Normandy Flight Time:
650 : 405
Normandy GK:
2411 : 977
Rheinland Sorties:
3931 : 3121
Rheinland Flight Time:
2148 : 1689
Rheinland GK:
6675 : 4079
Specific air to ground mission efficiency of both teams:
3,247 GK/hour/player for Axis
2,414 GK/hour/player for Allied
Two observations:
Initially, on the Normandy map a huge imbalance is clearly visible. On the Rheinland it was much better, but there is still some blue advantage visible (partially because of few ending days when Allied numbers dropped again)
Disparity in ground attack efficiency is not that huge as it may seem. In many previous, well-balanced campaigns, the efficiency ratio would be way more off, quite often exceeding 2:1. It seems that numbers alone are not the only factor behind team's efficiency in completing ground attack missions.
CP collection rate in both teams is almost identical: ~9,3 CP per hour.
Loss rates are also very close in both teams:
~20% for planes
~13% for pilots
It looks like the planeset is quite balanced - both sides have similar survival rates and similar level of difficulty in unlocking better planes.
The ending conclusion:
TAW itself seems to be fair for both teams when it comes to the design itself. The main cause of a blue win was just a difference in numbers that ultimately allowed to end both maps by pushing the enemy out.
Some interesting facts:
1) The best fighter sortie (the only case of an 'ace in a flight') - a Tempest sortie with 6 Air Kills
2) The best bomber sortie: Antwerpen Depot bombing raid in a Ju 88 A-4 with 33 Ground Kills
3) The best fighter planes (air kills to loss ratio), three of them are noticeably ahead of the rest:
Me 262
Tempest
P-51D
4) The best air to ground planes (ground kills to loss ratio):
Ju 88 A-4
Ar 234
P-38
Typhoon
Tempest
Mosquito
attacker Fw 190s (G-3 and F-8)
Me 410
Most of them had very similar performance, aside from the first two (Junkers/Arado) that are way ahead. Quite surprising as in previous campaigns these two were much more in line with the rest.
5) The most popular aircraft:
Fw 190 A-8
Bf 109 G-6 and G-14 ( all of the subvariants)
Spitfire Mk IX
P-51D
6) The least popular planes:
teardrop Spitfire XIV
Ju 88 C-6
Me 262
7) The new addition to the planeset - G-6/AS had pretty decent playtime - nearly 100 hours. Really decent achievement for a very specialised, high altitude plane.
8) The flyin coffin - P-47D-22:
38,7% aircraft loss rate (nearly double the average)
30% pilot loss rate (more than double the average)
77,5% of plane losses ends up with pilot loss (death or capture)
9) The safest plane:
Transport A-20B - 2,6% plane loss rate i 0,4% pilot loss rate (yeah, all transports are very safe, unless you do a paradroping mission

)
Out of combat planes:
Ar 234 B - 9,7% plane losses, 1,9% pilot losses
Tempest - 9,7% plane losses, 5,4% pilot losses
10) Average sortie time - around 30-35 minutes for most aircraft. Around 1 hour for bombers.
